When I was little, I wanted to be a ballerina. And the first female catcher for the New York Mets. Neither happened, but I still love ballet and baseball. And glassblowing. And my kids. And my husband. And my friends. And starting around my 40th birthday, writing.
In my life and my writing, I prioritize the following:
Accountability journalism, advocacy for marginalized folks, harm reduction in all ways possible.
My writing has been sourced by Lawrence O’Donnell, applauded by the Creative Director of the Oscars, and blocked by mansplainers and white saviors who chafe at being challenged on their privilege. I moderate complex discussions on white privilege, sexism, anti-Semitism, abortion rights, and politics with strength and finesse. When editing, I kill a writer’s darlings while preserving their voice. As a volunteer clinic escort, I absorb protesters’ harassment while protecting patients’ personal space and dignity.
All-around BAMF.
And I always, always root for the Mets and the Orioles. Non-negotiable.

P.S. I must give an official shout out to my friend since elementary school, Mitch, who came up with the name of my blog, “The Worthington Post.” My last name is Worthington, and I was Posting, right? He was inspired by The Huffington Post. It also so happened I was blogging for my local Patch at the time, which had just been bought by The Huffington Post. My thinking was maybe people might click on it thinking it was The Washington Post, and I could trick people into reading my writing that way.
