So, I was getting my hair highlighted today, and a woman in a chair near me was getting her hair done, too, and talking to her hairdresser. They started talking about the election, and I overheard the woman saying how corrupt the Democrats are.
I looked at my hair dresser (whom I ADORE) and said quietly, “Please make them stop. I can’t listen to it. Please, please make them stop talking about it.” The knot in my stomach got tighter and tighter as I talked, and my sweet hairdresser tried to drown them out by distracting ME with talk of other things. It’s not like she could have walked over to them and told them to be quiet – they weren’t even talking that loudly. She knew I was in distress about it, though, and was trying to help the best way she knew how.
Then it occurred to me to do what I’ve been telling others to do all week: “USE YOUR VOICE.”
So…I said, in my best, clearest, making-sure-the-back-row-could-hear-me voice,
“Did you know the KKK is holding a parade in North Carolina to CELEBRATE Donald Trump’s election??? The KKK. Did you know that?”
My hairdresser smiled real big and shushed me through gritted teeth but her eyes were dancing with glee (and discomfort, but there was glee, too – at least, I’m telling myself that…)
So, naturally, I continued in just slightly-louder-than-normal-conversational-tone,
“It’s true, I’m serious! The KKK. Holding a VICTORY parade IN HONOR of Donald Trump. Can you BELIEVE that?”
Suddenly, the woman near me and her hairdresser began talking about their plans for Thanksgiving.
Here’s a picture of how my hair turned out. I went more kkkopper this time.

So, these ladies having a private conversation that you were eavesdropping on are not allowed to have an opinion because it disagrees with yours? You were uncomfortable so you feel they have to change their behavior? The behavior you were displaying is what they were referring to. . Democrats talk about loving everyone and everyone has a voice…. but obviously only if it agrees with them. Everyone is so easily “offended” these days that everyone must change for them.
